The season continues to become increasingly difficult for Manchester United and Rúben Amorim as they suffered another defeat to Tottenham on Sunday, marking their 12th loss of the season. Since Amorim’s appointment as manager, he has struggled to steer the team in the right direction. He has won only 4 matches, suffered 8 losses, and drawn 2.
Amorim is also dealing with an injury crisis, with Lisandro Martínez sidelined due to a hamstring injury, and Amad, a key player for Manchester United this season, suffering the same injury, which has ruled him out for the remainder of the season.
However, Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou showed no sympathy for Amorim’s situation. In an interview, he said: “Man United with many injured players? If I check my office, I don’t have any sympathy cards from other coaches.”
“I could see Rúben there, players out of position, kids on the bench… welcome to my world. But that’s for one game. Now do that for two months.”
Manchester United currently sits 15th in the Premier League table, just 12 points clear of relegation and 14 points away from the top four, making it look unlikely that they will qualify for European competition this season.
